Some for the creature

If you want to start a veg garden but don't want the effort of weeding; lay down bags of compost with about 24 holes poked in the bottom, open the tops and plant away: nothing comes up, as you can see these have been down for weeks and that blade of grass is the only thing that's made it through. If you leave gaps for the weeds to grow between the bags, the soil will remain healthy and you'll have a supply of composting material you can easily pull up to make fresh compost, it'll keep you fit this slight amount of work and you are still maintaining a natural habitat.

Remove the plastic after a year or two tho, before it turns brittle and crumbles into the soil

End of Season Scraps

Leaving the last of the peas for the slugs that are left after i controlled them with nemetodes, as long as we rebalance nature!

NEW SEASON

moving the veg bags of compost over more of the grassiness, will have to pull up the roots that have prospered

Perfect soil underneath and no weeding work needed

New water Butts abstract

The Broadbeans are sprouting, needs weeding until they can fend for themselves

Wasp nest in the shed, tried to encourage them to leave with Essential oils, it just made them use a hole in the back of the shed as a doorway so i think i’ll leave them as they’ll move on next year. Got my hosepipe out so i wont disturb them anymore. At least they will control the caterpillars

The broadbeans are fending for themselves well now, so less weeding needed. I saw butterflies feeding on the wild flowers i leave on my messy allotment experiment

The overgrown strawberries are still managing to fruit

Allotment Abstract, watering the raspberries, there are tones of them this year but they are all quite small so im watering in the hope that they will swell
